Summer styling.

With the summer fast approaching, I decided for my sake, I would install kinky twists for the duration of the summer. This time around, I'm not doing it because I hate my hair, this time, I'm doing it because my hair needs a rest.

My resident stylist, Kat, did my kinky twists, and I must say they look amazing! I've decided to do deep treatments while my hair is in kinky twists, as long as I don't apply conditioner to my scalp(causes build-up). I'm happy for this break!

In other hair news, I'm slowly becoming a fan of banding. I'm able to better gauge how well my hair responds to a product. Since my hair is stretched, it's easier to part and smoother to the touch.

Ok that's it for now!

Random pic.

Hola!

I decided to post a pic of a failed puff that turned out pretty well. Unfortunately de-tangling was a nightmare so no more puffs/afros for me.

I've also decided to have kinky twists installed to give my hair a break.

AKA

I'm bored with my hair. I'm not very photogenic with my twists so extensions is the way to go until September. I plan on being extremely vigilant with maintenance and upkeep during that time. My hair is growing and I want to make sure it stays that way.

Till next time!

Always bet on black.

Black hair for the WIN! I love dyeing my hair jet black using henna and indigo!

Banding Experiment.

Hola chicas!

I decided to band my hair to make twisting a bit easier for me. The process took about an hour to complete, which isn't too bad. However, sleeping prove to be quite a pain since I had a slight headache because of them(and we won't even talk about the take down.) Next time, I'll only band the roots and a few inches below it. I had to cut 2 scrunchies because they became tangled in my hair but other than that, it was good. I'm not sure it made twisting my hair easier, it did however give my twists more LENGTH:

but my roots near my crown was so friggin dry and hard to part. I really need to get that area under control, it's driving me NUTS.

Till next time!
