New kid on the block
As you know, I'm currently in kinky twist until March....April...hell make that July. Now, since the air is cold and dry, keeping my hair moisturized and free of buildup is a must. The last time I removed my last set of kinky twist from my hair, some parts were extremely dry and matted and that had me worried. I think it was probably due to the lack of mositurizing and cleaning. I'll admit that for the last three weeks I had the twist in, I became extremely lazy with washing and mositurizing and I paid dearly.
Never again!
I think what deterred me was not having an all-in-one product that shampoo and conditions my hair.
In the past, I was using Shakaki, Amla, Neem, Aritha, Coltsfoot, Hisbiscus,Nettle, and Sage to make herbal teas that I would use to cleanse my hair. After awhile I became extremely lazy and was turned off from the WHOLE process.
Enter Hesh Heenara.
While stocking up on my auyerda powders for my hair, I came across Hesh Haneera powder. What stood out most to me in was the ingredients: Mehendi Leaves, Maka Leaves, Shikakai Fruit, Amla Fruit (5%), Methi Seed, Narangi Chal, Neem Leaves, Kumari Leaves, Japakusum Flower, Mandoor Powder, Behda Fruit, Kapur Kachli Stem, Brahmi Leaves, Harde Fruit, Chandan, Sugandhi Dravya
How amazing is that?
I ordered two boxes and I'm going to give it a try tomorrow.
Wish me luck!

Reunited...
And my hair won't behave
Twistouts don't work, neither does bantu knots, my hair feels hard in the middle, and I don't know what to do....

Hair today.......
I really like the consistency and it made my hair extremely moisturized. Now I'm not sure if I want to use it by itself, since my hair is kinda of crunchy in the middle to the top.
Now remember, I'm working with 2 different textures on my head. The hair in the back is a softer looser texture that can't hold a curl, while the hair in the front? Extremely thick, kinkier and hellish to detangle. Now the hair on the back feels extremely moisturzed, the hair to the front feels mositurized but wiry at the same time.
So I think I'm going to layer Qhem's BRBC over the Cafe Latte for the hair in the front.
Why can't my hair do what I want?
Anyway, here is my bantu knot out for today.
I think tomorrow I'm going to try a braidout, so we shall see where this goes.

Can I tell you how much I LOVE the spice plum fragrant oil? Ohmygoodness sooo yummy! Last night I made a body oil with equal parts grapeseed oil, sweet almond oil, and a few drops of spice plum fragrant oil.
Talk about luxurious!
I also made a facial toner using rosewater and organic witch hazel and my skin loved it!
I'm happy with my purchases!

Guess who.......
Now I won't be able to review the Cafe latte until I take these kinky twist out in two weeks, but I tested a bit on some loose hair and I really like it.
As far as my vanilla oil samples, I love all of them except the Berry Vanilla & Sweet Almond Oil, that one reeks.
So I'm happy with my purchases!

Good Customer Service.....
As I sit here waiting for my packages, one in particular from Anita Grant, I am reminded once again how "Good" customer service makes a world of difference.
As you know, I made my first purchase from Anita Grant on October 31st. I received notice on Nov. 4th that my package was shipped to the United States. Now imagine my frustration when I check the USPS website the days following as instructed, I receive no additional information other than "the package has been past from the origin." Each and everyday.
I was beyond pissed.
I called USPS because I needed to know where my package was considering it was coming from Great Britain. I was surprised and HORRIFIED to learn that my beloved package with all my goodies has not reached the United States and was still in Great Britain.
Oh.hell.no
I sent an email to Anita Grant immediately inquiring about my order status and not even an HOUR later, I received a response.
They explained that on my behalf, they contacted Royal Mail and USPS about the status of my order. They went on to explain that my goodies are indeed in the US, NY to be exact and that my package is in the custody of Customs(they betta not mess with my vanilla samples, they will be hell to pay if anything happen to my babies). They also informed USPS to send me daily updates on the status of my order(awesome square).
After I received a response from Anita Grant, I also received an email from USPS with an update on my order!
Holla!
I also checked USPS website today and it NOW states that my package is in the custody of NY ISC...Customs!!!!
I will keep you posted!

Once more again...
Now, I KNOW I said that I wasn't going to buy anymore products for my hair, but I decided what the heck, it isn't a new mositurizer, conditioner, poo bars or leave in, so I should be ok.
I've decided to use floral waters in my daily spritzes. I want something different for my hair so I'm going to try this out.
I have the following bulk items in my cart: rosewater(for my daily spritzes), aloe vera juice(for my daily spritz), castor oil(for sealing), grapeseed oil(face and body oil), sweet almond oil(body oil) and a spice plum fragrant oil(I want to try this for my body oil).
So, once I get my items, I'll let you know!
Also, my items from Anita Grant has been shipped to the USA, so it's only a matter of time before I receive my goodies!
Can't wait!

Sally's haul.....
You know, I really have no shame.
I was in Sally's this evening because I needed new perm rods(I want tighter curls) and a pair of scissors for my upcoming trim(I can't wait, my ends are ragged). I was minding my business when I spotted China Glaze new Holiday 2009 collection...omg...they were all so beautiful. I really wanted Ruby Slippers but heavens I have ENOUGH reds.
So I picked up Emerald Sparkles instead. The color is breathtakingly beautiful and stunning on my nails, I can't wait to swatch this color, just goregous.
Go me!

Once more again!
To STOP myself from ordering Anita Grant rhassoul cubes...I'm just going to order Rhassoul clay from mountainroseherbs.com
Now, I know in the past I stated that I wasn't too impressed with rhassoul clay, but I FINALLY realized what I was doing wrong this whole time.
I was mixing the water and the clay together when I should have left left the mix alone and let the clay suck up the water.
In others, NO MIXING.
So now I want to try it again and this time I'm going to try it with coconut milk and see what happens.
Till next time!

Major haul!
I'm giving away two KBB's hair nectars(kept one that was almost done), Qhemet's CTDG, and all my Chagrin Valley samples and a full size poo bar. I got rid of all my vitamins since I hate taking them, and finally combined all my left over deep conditioners(AOSHR and Hairveda hair masque) into a jar.
Luckily my friend is visiting from out of town so I can pass all this stuff on to her.
I'm going to stick to the basic: castor oil, Suave Condish, a deep conditioner(probably my homemade mix that I used in the beginning), if it all works out Anita Grant creamy cafe latte(if not back to Qhemet's BRBC), Ida poo bars, and my beloved Vatika Oil.
That's.it!!!!!!!!
I'm OVER being a PJ, I can't do it. I found what works for my hair and I'm going to stick to it.
Word.

The story....
Yeah.
I'm sitting at my laptop, minding my own e-business, and I decided to visit Anita's Grant website.
BIG mistake.
I saw that she had various Organic Vanilla oil samples, and as a Vanilla lover, well, I just had to try them out!
So I ordered:
Organic Vanilla & Sweet Almond Oil (Unscented)
Organic Vanilla & Virgin Coconut Oil (Unscented)
Black Vanilla & Sweet Almond Oil
Berry Vanilla & Sweet Almond Oil (Unscented)
Organic Vanilla Rose & Sweet Almond Oil (Unscented)
Coconut and Rosewood Dry Oil
Oh, I also ordered the Creamy Café Latte leave-in, and YES I did get a full-size jar. I figure, get it now and worry about it until it's time to take my hair out. I'm going to try this under my beloved Qhemet's BRBC and see what happens.
Here's some info:
Creamy Café Latte - Creamy Café Latte Detangle Leave-in available in 2 sizes:
Pure Brazilian Coffee Oil stimulating the follicles of your natural hair, the wholesome goodness of Fijian Virgin Coconut oil penetrating your hair shaft, decadent Unrefined Cocoa Butter conditioning your hair from root to tip and the vitamin enriched - velvety suppleness of Australian Macadamia Nut Oil lovingly caressing every bend & twirl of your lush curls. Topped off with an abundance of delicious natural & organic hair care loving ingredients...mmm-mmm-goodness!
Enhance your hair's natural texture, maintain moisture and manageability - without build up. Just rub a teeny pinch of Creamy Café Latte between the palms of your hands, work with your naturally curly hair and cover from root to tip - caress & detangle dry hair (YES, dry hair) for instant softness in seconds. Then sit back and enjoy the scent, softness and sheen.
You can get it here: http://www.anitagrant.com/
From what I've heard, it will take about four weeks to get my items since they are shipping from the UK, and you know what?
I don't mind....not one bit, lol.
I have no shame...

A new feature!
"Mani of the Day" or better known as MOTD!
Now if you don't know, I am a self-proclaim polish addict. I happen to LOVE doing my nails and I find it to be very therapeutic and calming for me. I'm able to block everything that's going around all around me and just concentrate on doing my nails.
To date I have over 100 polishes and counting. Just this past week I attended Nails Night Out in the city and came home with goodies from Nubar, No.6, Zoya, Jessie's Girl, Color Club etc. I spent $30 to get in and came home with a gift bag worth over $1,000. You KNOW I was the happiest girl in the world! I didn't even mention that between the nails polishes that were included in the gift bag and the ones I picked up in the swap, I came home with 17 polishes.
Awesome SQUARE.
So my very first MOTD is Diamond Cosmetics "Don't Teal My Heart Away". I happen to LOVE this company and their incredibly inexpensive nail polish($2!!!!!) and amazing customer service, I'm a fan for life!
Don't Teal My Heart Away is a gorgeous teal cream. Application was great, it was a bit thick but nothing I couldn't handle. I decided to use Nubar's Foundation Base Coat and Diamont Seal and Shine Topcoat this week. I'm going to see how many days I can go without chipping or tipwear!
Gives me fever!!!!!!!!!

Randomness....
- I was looking at some old hair photos and I miss my hair.
- But not enough for me to wear it out, winter haven't even started yet.
- I think I'm going to rock these kinky twist until May. I'll probably wear my hair out for my birthday in April.
- My hair is due for a henna
treatment....STAT
- and a trim....next month STAT
- as a matter of fact, I have to invest in some good clippers.
Random product ramblings....
- I really want to try Anita Grant's rhassoul deep conditioning cubes and their cafe latte leave-in conditioner, but the exchange rate SUCKS
- I really need to use up/get rid of these friggin Hair Nectars
- I can't wait to replenish my hair stock.
- I can't wait to whip up my deep conditioner mixture(Lustrasilk and Aubrey's, I'm coming back!!!!)
- hmmmm I need more castor oil
- goodness I'm running low on everything!!!!!!
- man I really want to try Ida's Auyverdic poo bar, but I really don't need anymore. I have enough for the next 2-3 years.
Oh well, nothing is being replenished until March.
Till next time!

Let's play catch up....
What made this time around different?
I've finally embraced my natural hair 100%! I realized this when I was in the city with my friend and of course she wasn't a big fan of my banging fro, that frankly, I didn't give a flying fuck if she liked my hair. I love my hair, I love that it sets me apart from everyone else, I love that it has a personality and that its getting BIGGER! I didn't need my mother or my sisters validation anymore. I happened to love my hair now more than ever and I can't wait to wear more out styles in the summer.
As far as products go, I've kept true to my word and haven't purchased anything else for my hair........except herbs and powders, but other than that, nada. As a matter of fact I'm running dangerously low on all my products at this moment, except KBB's hair nectar(I have about 3 bottles left over after I gave one to my aunt in law).
The end!

Well hello again!!!
Tuesday, August 18, 2009
Goobye.
I might come back but more than likely I might not.
I'll miss blogging, but right now, it's for the best.
I've simply had enough. I'm tired of faking it, tired of feeling empty, tired of feeling restless and tired of not having a peace of mind.
So I'm going to take this time to get the ball rolling and get my life back on track.
So with that I say goodbye and a big thanks to those who read my ramblings. Mucho love for all the support.
Peace out.
(who still says that? Lol)

Much better....
So, last night my cousin did my hair in two strand twist with braided root, and this time she made the braids slightly bigger than the last time and I must say I am loving it very much.
My twist look fuller and more juicier than the last set, so I'm happy with the results.

Trials and tribulations.....
Last night I decided to take the braids out because my hair is due to be braided next week and I wanted my hair to be free a few days(I know I'm going to regret it but whatever lol).
Well by the time I got to hour 2, I was ready to lose my damn mind!!!!!!!!! Oh heavens, trying to unravel those twist proved to be a real damn headache! Luckily for me, my dad came over and helped me take the rest of my hair out because I was thisclose to losing my ever-loving mind and cutting my hair off!!!!!!!!! Luckily we finished around 10pm so I decided to wash my hair because my hair felt greasy and dirty even though it was washed on Thursday.
Can we talk about how THICK my hair is in the middle? I mean it gave my trusty Denman the blues! I don't know if its from my recent henna treatment, but my gawd, it was unreal.
So I threw in some bantu knots, unleashed my fro today and get this....
My mother FINALLY believes me when I tell her that my hair is growing. She was really shocked and amazed at how long my hair is and maybe, just maybe she'll come around to accepting my hair.
Anyway, my hair looks goregous!!!!!!!!! My fro is just getting bigger and bigger!
Its love.......

What an adventure!
Now my review of Karishma henna. I really like this henna, it washes out easily, just like Jamila, it dyed my hair a beautiful auburn color that I really like and overall I like that I was able to purchase 150 grams for $ 2.95, a steal, so I don't think I'll go back to Jamila or Yemeni henna.
All in all a pleasurable experience!
PS- don't mind the razziness of my braids, those babies are coming out on Saturday, woot! Woot!

Soooooooooooo
I was going to order henna from another vendor, I think it was Ruchita, but after reading some negative reviews, I decided against it. Also ishopindian has already shipped my order AND provided me with a tracking number and I only ordered it yesterday! Great customer service or what?
In other hair news, I also ordered 200grams of indigo from Mehandi as well so I can dye my hair black. I can't wait to try it!
Other than that, still loving my hair even though I've started back stalking people fotkis and comparing lengths, which is no good. So I'm going to either throw some extensions in, which I reallllllllyyyyyyy don't want to do or find another way to stop stressing over my hair growth.
We shall see!

Its my hair....
Just as I was about to give up on henna, lo and behold, I've found a website that sells Rashima Herbal Henna
AND Bhrami!!!!!!! And its cheap!!!!!!!! Cheap henna???? 3.95 for 100grams??? Holla!!!! Brahmi for 3.99??????? What you say??????And you KNOW how LONG I've been searching for some Brahmi!!!!!! Hell yeah I'm buying them!!!!!!
I can get 500grams of herbal henna and 100grams of Brahmi for 31.42, how great is that????????
Moving on, I'm still dying my hair black so I'm going to order 300 grams of indigo in two weeks as well from Mehandiskinart because they are better priced(aka cheap).
Still loving my hair, even though my mother and sister continue to be unsupportive, but whatever, its MY hair and I fucking like it, fuckwhachaheard.
I'm a happy nappy girl who LOVES her hair!!!!!!!!!

Nothing new to report....
I love that I can pin my hair back with my various flower and butterfly pins. This is hair style has to be one of my favorite styles right now.
Hmmm what else?
Hairveda deep conditioning masque is really good! I love to mix some shakakai oil, vatika oil and honey with it to give it some umppppphhhh!
Sad to say, but even though I really like this product, I probably won't repurchase because I'm trying not to spend a lot of money on something such as a deep conditioner since I can whip up a really good one using. Lustrasilk or Suave condish, some AOHRS condish, honey, and any oil I chose.
Now as to my leave-ins(Karen's) and moisturizer(Qhemt's), they have a fan for life!!!
Have I mentioned that I'm dyeing my hair black? If not, I've decided that I am bored with red hair and going back to black. This round I'm going to use henna and indigo and probably replace henna with cassia for extra deep treatments once or twice a month.
But can someone tell me why Cassia is so rasshole expensive????
Jeeeez louise!
